RustingtonParish Council PROPOSED TRAVELLERS' TRANSIT SITE PRESS RELEASE As a result of the direct action taken by the Parish Council in holding two Public Meetings on Thursday 19th August, at which there was an enormous show of public rejection to the proposal for a Transit Site on the borders of Rustington and Angmering, it was evident that people power has proved to be the victor. The Parish Council is proud to have played a significant part in bringing this proposal into the public domain, which has resulted in its withdrawal by the Arun District Council. Thanks and appreciation must go to the local community, local businesses, fellow Councillors and Parish Council Personnel for their support in showing that when it really matters, the power of the common people can achieve positive results. The Parish Council would also like to thank Arun District Council for listening to the voice of the local community. ----- ENDS ---- For further information please contact the Rustington Parish Council Offices on 01903 786420 |
